Age no barrier for Aspey, 62, after qualifying as an instructor

BROADWAY’S Joe Aspey has just passed his assistant instructor certificate at the age of 62.

He has been studying martial arts at London Chinatown Taekwondo, which has classes around the Vale of Evesham and the Cotswolds, for two-and-a-half years.

Aspey has been concentrating on taekwondo and ensodo and was one of a number of students in the area who marked the new year by gaining instructor qualifications.

Rich Edkins, of Bretforton, became a full instructor, while Rebecca Nevin and Lydia Richards, both from Honeybourne, Mickleton’s George Fleming and Rhys Milbery from Aston Somerville also became assistants.

More details on the club are available at lctkd.com.
