Clarke is top shooter for HRS Cup triumph

CHILDSWICKHAM Gun Club held their first clay shoot of 2012 on a chilly, foggy morning.
A well-attended meeting was a combination of two competitions, the HRS Perpetual Challenge Cup and part one of the MSS All Rounders Cup.
The HRS cup was a stand of 20 crossing targets, similar to skeet, and turned out to be a close-run match between the top shooters on the day.
Phil Clarke emerged as the winner with 19/20, Dave Andrews second with 18/20 and Paul Colley, Dave Galbraith and Phil Taylor in joint third with 17/20.
The other discipline was a 20- target sporting lay-out comprising of various clays, including over-head going aways pairs, incoming singles and teal.
With a combined score of 34/40, Colley took the the honours of high gun of the day at the event.
The next shoot will be on Sunday, February 26.
