Garden strengthens links with Japan
6:00pm Friday 27th January 2012

A COTSWOLD garden is looking to strengthen its links with the Far East this year after starring in a television show and book.
Bourton House Garden, Bourton-on-the-Hill, was chosen as a location for many of the photographs in a book featuring Japanese model and actress Yasuko Matsuyuki, along with scenes taken from Upper and Lower Slaughter.
The book, which is published today, features Matsuyuki, a big star in Japan, in a series of shots in various locations around the garden, including one with a bear.
The Cotswolds is popular with Japanese tourists and Bourton House Garden has also been filmed for a prime time TV series, currently being broadcast in Japan to 2.8 million people.
Last year Bourton House Garden was visited by 50 Japanese tour groups and owner Roelof Quintus hopes that the TV programme and book will bring many more Japanese tourists to visit the garden in 2012.
Bourton House Garden is open for its 2012 season from April to October, every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 5pm.
