Major boost for patient care

A PRIVATE hospital in Worcester has invested in a new MRI scanner as bosses hope to reach out to more patients across Worcestershire.

The Spire South Bank Hospital, Bath Road, Worcester, has installed the scanner which offers a 24 hours a day, seven days a week service for its patients.

Hospital director Ben Nicholson said that the MRI scanner, installed at a cost of £1 million, is just the latest in a continuing programme of investments that will boost Spire South Bank’s reputation.

“The past few years have seen an unprecedented investment in our facilities and services including the launch of our state-of-the-art Spire Eye Centre, bone and joint orthopaedics and physiotherapy brand and the opening of the Lodge, our exclusive cosmetic surgery consulting suite,” he said.

“This year will see the introduction of more new services including an oncology suite and mole clinic, the increasing use of laser technology for urology patients and a state-of-the-art fluoroscopy system.

“We already have outreach clinics in Droitwich, Malvern and Evesham and have further clinics planned in north Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire which are all due to be unveiled early this year. It’s a very exciting time for us.”
